Pan Seared Mini Crab Cakes

Pan Seared Mini Crab Cakes

  • 1 tube SEAFOOD NATURALS™ – Crab cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 4 tbls. Smart Balance® (or butter)
  • 2 tbls. Olive oil
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Push out the crab from the tube, slice it up in 8–10 pieces, and set aside. Add the shortening, and olive oil to a 10" skillet, and heat to temperature over medium heat. Add the crab rounds and brown on both sides. The crab rounds brown up nice, but may stick a little, so use a fork to scoot under the crab pieces before turning.

Stick a tooth pick through the browned cake, and serve with one of your favorite dipping sauces as an appetizer for a unique party treat. Bon Apetite!

This preparation is rich, healthy snack, or center of the plate entrée for a savory meal!

Crab with Tobiko

  • 1 tube SEAFOOD NATURALS™ – Crab cut into 3/4 inch slices
  • 1 Jar Tobiko

SEAFOOD NATURALS™ crab can be served with any of your favorite tobikos – Red, Black, Orange, or Wasabi. Just slice the tube in rounds, and put a dab of your favorite one on top. You can put a dot of wasabi under the tobiko for a little extra ‘punch’, or serve it just like suggested, with some slices of lemon on the side.

Crab Louis Salad: 2 servings

This recipe is an authentic one, it calls for iceberg lettuce and if you select good, crisp, iceberg, it will taste great! This is what you will need:

  • 1 tube SEAFOOD NATURALS™ – Crab cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 2 (Quartered) Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Black Olives
  • 1 Head Iceberg Lettuce
  • Tomato 1 Medium (Cut in eights)

Carefully pull off the best outer leaves of the head of lettuce, and reserve them for the cradle you will make on the serving dishes. Slice up enough of the remaining lettuce to make a ‘bed’ on the two serving plates, and keep them crisp until you put the salad together.

For the DRESSING, which is the reason for the greatness of this healthy dish, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup Mayonaise
  • 1/2 cup Light Cream
  • 1/4 cup Chili Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Fine Scallions
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Fine Green Peppers
  • 1 tbls. Chopped Fine Green Olive
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Mix all the above ingredients together in the order listed and set aside.

Putting it all together:

Line the serving plates with the best outer leaves and make a bed of lettuce with the sliced lettuce. Remove the Seafood Natural crab from the tube and cut it in half down the center, all the way. With each half, using a sharp knife, slice it on the bias (at an angle), about 1/4 inch for each slice, and shingle these in the center of the bed of lettuce, 1/2 tube for each plate. Garnish the perimeter of the plate with egg and tomato wedges, and black olives. Using a small spoon, spoon the dressing over the crab and lettuce, and add salt and add salt and pepper to taste.
