SEAFOOD NATURALS™ product line started in 2004, as an outgrowth of Intershell's efforts to prepare American monkfish livers in the Japanese tradition (commonly known as ANKIMO). Since it's founding, Intershell has been supplying ankimo to U.S. sushi distributors, and has been trading monkfish livers to the Tsukiji Market in Japan.
The typical (Japanese) shape for serving this marine delicacy is cylindrical, but it tends to be soft. So we developed the poly tube package so that this specialty product could travel without any damage – and it worked! Soon after, we rolled out our fully cooked monkfish liver pate product, and have been selling it ever since.
R&D for SEAFOOD NATURALS™ started shortly after our introduction of Ankimo, and went through several months of trial and error which culminated in SEAFOOD NATURALS' presentation at the 2005 International Boston Seafood Show, where it took the First Prize for the Best New Seafood Product of 2005.
We have experimented with many fish and shellfish species for our tubes, and are introducing SCALLOPS, CRAB, LOBSTER, SALMON, SHRIMP, AND ANKIMO, to begin with, but will roll out several others in short time.
One thing for sure, every tube you try will taste just like the flavor of the fish you select.
